On Saturday, October 4, 2025, 11:30 to 3:00 PM at The Well at Oxon Run, powered by DC Greens (300 Valley Ave., S.E. Washington, DC 20032), the JVMOM Youth & Young Adult Ministry will be convening for an afternoon of Black History and art. Renowned artist and muralist, Kaliq Crosby, will share his knowledge and talents as we collectively engage in an exquisite cultural learning experience for youth and adults alike! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During this month, JVMOM encourages everyone to learn about the importance of early detection, understand metastatic breast cancer, and know the warning signs. Learn about risk factors, common symptoms, and how regular self-exams and awareness can make a lifesaving difference. Join with the U-Cancer-Vive Support group in their efforts to support survivors, spread knowledge, and encourage proactive health for our community. Contact: Sis. Delores Henderson-Williams

The October Thankful Thursdays focus will be on our emerging JVM Scholarship Ministry! We want to show our thankfulness for the diligence and commitment of all of our students and to support their ongoing academic excellence and growth. On Thankful Thursday, October 9th, please consider giving above and beyond your normal tithes and offerings. Please be sure to include "JVM Scholarships" in the memo field of your donations or in the "other" field of your giving envelope. Donations are accepted via PayPal, Givelify, CashApp, check or cash. In September, the JVM Music Ministry was blessed--enabling the continued expansion of the Joyful Voices & Melodies Ministry in the search for a permanent musician and rehearsal venue. 

For its 4th consecutive year, JVM Outreach Ministries is helping others to stay warm as the winter months approach! Please donate new, clean, and gently used coats and jackets to help our communities. We are accepting all sizes for men, women, and children! If you are unable to donate a coat, monetary donations are also accepted and will be used to purchase coats. Please bring your donation to 5000 Mercedes Blvd., Camp Springs, MD, on October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon, or Click Here to give a love offering. The 4th Annual JVM Outreach Ministries' Christmas Celebration is confirmed! We will celebrate this joyous season with family, fellowship, and fun on December 14, 2025 @ the Holiday Inn, 10000 Baltimore Ave., College Park, MD 20740. The Shepherd's Care Ministry extends its humble thanks to each of you who are faithfully pledging and giving to support the overall health and well-being needs of our Pastor. As we continue in faithful and diligent giving this month in recognition of Clergy Appreciation Day, please make note of a few reminders. If giving by check, please make your check payable only to "JVM" noting "Shepherd's Care Ministry" in the memo section. A similar notation should be made in the designated message field if you are giving via one of the online giving platforms. Cash and check gifts should be placed in the specially designed blue Shepherd's Care Pledge envelopes to ensure your gifts are more easily identified and accurately directed. You may obtain envelopes from any member of the Open Arms Usher Ministry. Thank you for your generosity!

1. Son*Day School is every Sunday morning at 9:00 am with Rev. Marteal Pitts via Conference Call. Please join for fellowship and great teachings from the Bible!
2. Prayer with the Cherry's will resume in September! Join the Cherry's on Mondays and Fridays at 8:00 am via conference call to bookend your week with prayer.
3. Join us for Bible Study on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm via Facebook Live! Come expecting a powerful lesson from the Word.
